Sorry, nothing in cart.
When Violet Chachki went to Paris Couture Week last year, she pulled out all the stops. She coordinated her perfectly cinched Jean Paul Gaultier gown to her deep ocean blue hair; she formed a fashion-forward crew at Mugler with the likes of Casey Spooner, Caroline Polacheck, and the brand’s creative director Casey Cadwallader; and she recreated an infamous Britney Spears pose in front of the Eiffel Tower (in a hot pink mesh shirt, no less).
At this year’s Couture Week, Chachki, who just announced her upcoming debut solo show “A Whole Lot More,” somehow managed to one-up herself. From bumping shoulders with Celine Dion to taking to the streets of Paris in a red gown that she describes as “Handmaid’s Tale goes feminist and fashion-forward” with Caroline Vreeland by her side in a matching dress, Chachki was in fine form last week as she attended shows like Schiaparelli, Ralph & Russo, Giambattista Valli, and Jean Paul Gaultier. And in a cheeky reprisal from last year’s shenanigans, Chachki ended up posing in front of yet another classic Parisian tourist attraction, this time outshining the Vendôme Column that stands just north of the Tuileries Gardens in a semi-sheer, white tulle couture creation by Viktor & Rolf. Chachki yet again proved that she’s the queen of couture.
