Taylor Swift supported ESPN’s Kansas City Chiefs series and was described as a “fan of the community.”
Taylor Swift was “very supportive” of ESPN’s new Kansas City Chiefs docuseries, director Kristen Lappas said — and fans of the singer and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, likely expect no less.
While speaking to reporters Saturday, August 23, Lappas said Swift, 35, also “approved all of her image and likeness” for use in the docuseries The Kingdom. The six-part series heavily featured Kelce, 35, as he lead the Chiefs through the 2024 football season.
Lappas also revealed the team behind the docuseries decided against asking Swift for an interview. As Chiefs CMO and Foolish Club Studios COO Lara Krug put it, the point of the series “was always about the Chiefs and the family” and Swift is a self-described “big fan.”
“Now you see her in the way that I think is how she wanted to be seen, which is as a fan of the community,” Krug added.

Swift and Kelce have been dating since the summer of 2023, and the pop star attended her first Chiefs game on September 24 of the same year. She was again spotted at a second game on October 1, which kicked off a fan frenzy as everyone waited to see how many games she would attend in the season.
The first episode of The Kingdom debuted on August 14, 2025, the day after Swift appeared on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast for the first time. The pair were seated close to one another throughout the two-hour episode in which they shared details from the early stages of their relationship.
The summer of 2025 has been the longest stretch of time Swift and Kelce have been able to spend together, and the duo came away from those months with an understanding of how right they are for each other.
“Taylor and Travis have settled into a real rhythm as a couple, and the more time they spend together, the more they realize how aligned they are,” a source told Us Weekly.
A second source also said, “During this downtime, they really noticed all the little things they have in common. They feel like they’ve found their person.”
The pair first retreated to Swift’s NYC penthouse in February before heading to a $20 million rental in Boca Raton, Florida, where Kelce trained for the upcoming football season.
“The break came at the right [moment],” the second source added. “Taylor needed to spend more time with Travis [so they could really] get to know each other.”
“They found a lot of common ground they were not expecting, and it made their relationship stronger,” that source continued. That common ground included their lifestyle choices. As the source put it, “Athletes have a different mindset; they are more disciplined, and it’s very similar to Taylor’s mindset.”
